The exhibition highlighted the competition between Jewish, Catholic and Protestant imagery in Western culture in Europe, the United States and in Israel, and explored the fascination Moses has exercised on European artists. 10 essays, including those on Moses in Jewish thought (Jean-Christophe Attias), Antique and Medieval representations of Moses in Jewish and Christian art (Sonia Fellous), Moses in Zionist iconography (Yigal Zalmona), and the relationship between American Jews and Blacks (Stephen Berkowitz).
