The works of fifteen of the most important female silversmiths of Germany, Austria and Switzerland during the 1920’s and 30’s. Largely forgotten in the post-war period, these female artists (many of Jewish origin) made significant strides in a traditionally male-dominated trade, creating progressive simple pieces conducive to serial production a time when the Bauhaus was still in an experimental phase. Each silversmith treated individually, within the categories of 1. Crafts and Industrial Design, 2. Female Goldsmiths and Silversmiths, 3. Workshop Communities. Judaica items are addressed within the works of Emmy Roth, “ ‘Judaika’: Kultgerät für die jüdische Glaubenspraxis [“Judaica”: Ceremonial Objects for the Jewish Religious Practice”] (Reinhard W.
