Description |
A joint exhibition between the Hungarian Jewish Museum and the First Carpet Association of Budapest. Three Torah Ark curtains and one Jewish carpet were included within the corpus of objects illustrating the history of carpet making in this area, the influences of other regions upon it, and the development of a public appreciation for carpets as works of art. Brief essay “History of Synagogue Textiles” gives a basic overview of the Torah Ark curtain, its origins and symbols. Descriptive entries. 39 items. |
