Jews as protagonists in the history of modernity and communication. Brief introduction “Ebraismo e Modernità” [Judaism and Modernity] by Giuseppe Laras. The majority of the exhibition focused on Hebrew printing in Italy, 15th–16th C (Bologna, Rimini and Ferrara), with introduction by Vincenza Maugeri. The latter part presented 5 “protagonists of modernity”, each of whom has some connection to Italy (especially Bologna): Ovadyah Sforno, Doña Gracia Mendes, Cesare Rovishi, Albert Einstein and Giorgio Bassani. Detailed descriptions of 14 printed books. |
