Description |
An exhibition jointly organized by the Jüdisches Museum Berlin and the Jüdisches Museum Wien examining the power of stereotyping images: how they affect our seeing, perception and classification of people, how they are influenced by politically-motivated prejudices, and how ineffectively they are invalidated by contrary information. Introduction by Felicitas Heimann-Jelinek and Hannes Sulzenbacher. Three catalog essays focus on: clichés, stereotypes and prejudices (Detlev Claussen), racist stereoptypes (Isolde Charim), and masks and metaphors (Darryl Pickney). Exhibition in 25 thematic sections. |
