Description |
An exhibition inspired by the journey of a Jewish envoy who was sent by Karl the Great (the future Charlemagne) from Aachen to Baghdad via Jerusalem, to bring gifts to the caliph. Material displayed in four sections: Isaac’s Journey, Bagdad, Jerusalem, and Aachen. Most of the Jewish exhibits are found in the section on Jerusalem (pp. 207–274), which features Jewish, Muslim and Christian objects from a variety of periods and places. No itemized listing. |
