Chronology of his life, followed by 7 essays on his character, the Jewish ghetto in Frankfurt (Fritz Backhaus), his time in Manchester and London, Rothschild’s relationship to London Jewry, Mrs. Rothschild, and Rothschild as an owner of paintings (Michael Hall).
