“Histories Between History” showed three countries in which the Jewish community is experiencing a period of transition: Slovakia, Cuba and Israel. Their stages of “betweenness” are shown in Thomas Stern’s photographs of synagogues and Jewish cemeteries (Slovakia), Paul C. Margolis’ photographs of the Jews of Cuba, and the artists’ project “Messengers of Peace” (Israel).
