“Histories Between History” showed three countries in which the Jewish community is experiencing a period of transition: Slovakia, Cuba and Israel. Their stages of “betweenness” are shown in Thomas Stern’s photographs of synagogues and Jewish cemeteries (Slovakia), Paul C.
