An examination of a new, feminist Judaica object that has emerged as a symbol of Miriam and her importance as a source of sustenance and spirit for the Jewish people. Two essays describe and discuss this new ceremonial object, its origins, the ritual in which it operates, and its context in the history of Jewish creativity.
