Description |
The first exhibition of Jewish art held in Lithuania since 1938 (excepting those held in the Vilna Ghetto during the Nazi occupation). Exhibits displayed in 6 sections: traditional Jewish Art, Jewish art of Kaunas [Kovno] (1918–1941), Jewish art of Vilnius (1918–1941), a 1938 exhibition of graphic artworks from the collection of Julius Genss (including many works from Vilna), works by artists who left Lithuania for other places, and Jewish artists of the postwar generation.
