An exhibition produced for Duisburg’s “Brotherhood Week”, which promoted dialogue between Jews, Christians and Muslims. The exhibition’s companion book explores the connection of these three religious groups to Jerusalem in three essays, including “Zur Geschichte Jerusalems und seiner Heiligtümer” [The History of Jerusalem and Her Sanctuaries] (Gerhard Bennertz and Tilmann Bechert), with a plethora of historical quotes from biblical to modern times, and “Die Bedeutung Jerusalems für Juden, Christen und Muslime” [The Significance of Jerusalem for Jews, Christians and Muslims] (R.J.Z. Werblowsky). Many of the essays’ illustrations show images and objects from the exhibition. No itemized listing. |
