A profusely-illustrated survey of Jewish life in Prussia from the Middle Ages until the Holocaust. Six brief introductory essays on such topics as: Jewish Emancipation in Prussia, the “Burden of Success”, and Christianity and Judaism, followed by chronological chapters that cover a myriad of historical, political and social topics, phenomena and individual personalities. Much attention given to early antisemitism in this region and its recurrence throughout the ages. No itemized listing.

This catalog was produced for the exhibition’s tour in Germany. For a complete listing of the exhibition’s extensive travel history in the United States, see #805. A second version of the exhibition was circulated in London and Germany, beginning in 1987.
