An outgrowth of an exhibition of the same name by the Jewish Museum New York [#511]. The current show featured 16 of the original objects, and excerpts from the original catalog. To this material were added 50 works from Canadian collections, a brief essay about the new Canadian element, and a selection of ceremonial objects lent by local synagogues (mentioned but not listed in the catalog). Both exhibitions focused on the Jewish background, concerns and motifs that fed into the creation of 20th-C artworks. Artists’ biographies. Basic listing. 71 items.
