Children’s artworks (drawings, paintings, and other crafts) produced in secular Jewish schools in the inter-war period. These items, which emanate from Poland, the Baltic States and Romania, reflect the pedagogic, political, economic and sociological conditions of the Jewish child and the Jewish school during this era, and represent only a fraction of the material collected before the outbreak of World War II by YIVO’s Department of Psychology and Education (which was in the process of organizing a Pedagogical Museum).
