Description |
An exhibition and fund-raising effort, showcasing objects acquired by the Schatz Fund during its first five years of activity. Brief introduction describes the Fund’s mission to rescue remnants of Jewish Art from Europe and find a permanent home for them at the Bezalel National Museum. An impassioned plea is made for others to contribute financially to these efforts, calling the exhibition a “warning” and call to action. Objects, in various quantities, listed according to type: paintings, Haggadot, manuscripts, Esther scrolls, circumcision implements, ceremonial objects, textiles, seals, Hanukkah lamps, Torah breastplates, and Torah pointers. Descriptive entries include the year the item was acquired by the Fund. 100 items. |
