Description |
The library of the Jewish Theological Seminary of Breslau was destroyed by the Nazis in 1938. In 1949 some 11,000 of the Library’s 30,000 volumes were discovered in the depot of the Commission on European Jewish Cultural Reconstruction, Inc. (JCR) in Wiesbaden. The books were eventually taken to Switzerland, and later distributed between institutions in the United States, Israel and Switzerland. |
