Objects and documents relating to Jewish doctors and ritual circumcisers (mohels) from Amsterdam. Organized by the commission which was the precursor to the Jewish Museum in Amsterdam. Basic listings. 72 items.


The first in a series of six exhibitions, each relating to the history of Jewish Amsterdam, organized by the Genootschap voor de Joodsche Wetenschap in Nederland, 1926–1930. The exhibitions were presented in a tower room of the newly-opened Amsterdams Historisch Museum, located in the Oude Waaggebouw (future home of the Joods Historisch Museum). This exhibition opened on the same day as the Museum itself.
