ABSTRACTThe object of this course by Donald M. McRae, Professor at the University of Ottawa, is to investigate the relationship between international law and international trade law. Professor McRae is interested in the way how the field of international trade law is perceived by international lawyers and in the relevance of basic concepts and procedures of international trade law to the general field of international law. Areas of conflict that have arisen between international trade law and particular branches of international law are also discussed in this course. In the different sections of his course, Professor McRae focuses on the traditional relationship between international trade law and international law, the economic and legal foundations of international trade law and international law, the concepts and institutions of international trade law and their relationship with international law, and the emerging conflicts between international trade law and international law.
Le cours de Donald M. McRae, professeur à l’Université d’Ottawa, a pour objet la relation entre le droit international et le droit du commerce international. Le Professeur McRae s´intéresse à la manière dont les spécialistes du droit international perçoivent le domaine du droit du commerce international et à la pertinence des concepts et des procédures de base du droit du commerce international par le droit international général. Il s’intéresse également aux conflits qui ont surgi entre le droit du commerce international et certaines branches du droit international. Le Professeur McRae analyse ainsi successivement la relation traditionnelle entre droit du commerce international et droit international, les fondements économiques juridiques du droit du commerce international et du droit international, les concepts et institutions du droit du commerce international et leur relation avec le droit international, les conflits surgissant entre droit du commerce international et droit international.
