ABSTRACTDoudou Thiam points out, in the introduction to his course on African Federalism, that problem arises and to which it is necessary to given an answer is as follows: what is, in the present state (in 1969), the form of federalism that best corresponds to the sociological data of the continent? This question is at the center of the debate that inspires various African fractions. To answer this question, the author first focuses on African federal states and then on regional organizations in Africa.
Le problème qui se pose, relève Doudou Thiam en introduction de son cours sur le fédéralisme africain, et auquel il convient de donner une réponse est le suivant : quel est, dans l'état présent (en 1969), la forme de fédéralisme qui correspond le mieux aux données sociologiques du continent ? Cette question est au centre du débat qui anime alors différentes fractions africaines. Pour répondre à cette question, l'auteur s'intéresse dans un premier temps aux Etats fédéraux africains, et dans un deuxième temps aux organisations régionales en Afrique.
