ABSTRACTGiuseppe Sperduti summarizes the central thesis of his course by saying that private international law should be extended, as well as inter-statutory law, relating to the private law of the different territorial communities in a direct and an immediate manner. The rules of international law, which emerge from modern codifications as well as modern legal practices, are distinguished from the principles of the theory of statutes. Giuseppe Sperduti organizes his course around the following topics: the concept of private international law, doctrines, single-objective and multi-objective functions of private international law, and problems of functioning of the rules of private international law.
