ABSTRACTThe rules concerning the international protection of cultural wealth in case of armed conflict have been codified in the form of Hague Convention in 1954. This convention until now (1967) constitutes the peak of a long historical process which Stanislaw Nahlik intends to study. In order to explain the policy of international protection of cultural wealth in case of armed conflict, the author also looks into the doctrine. He thus not only takes into consideration the ever-changing conceptions of war, but also no less changeable conceptions of art and its history.
Les règles concernant la protection des biens culturels en cas de conflit armé ont été codifiées sous forme de convention à La Haye en 1954. Cette convention constitue jusqu'ici (1967) le point culminant d'un long processus historique que Stanisław Nahlik se propose d'étudier. Pour expliquer la pratique de la protection internationale des biens culturels en cas de conflit armé, l'auteur se penche aussi sur la doctrine. Il prend ainsi en considération non seulement les conceptions – combien changeantes – de la guerre, mais aussi les conceptions non moins changeantes de l'art et de son histoire.
