ABSTRACTTo designate the objective of the course, Antonio Truyol Y Serra refers to a concept borrowed from biology: mutation, which he applies here to the international society. The mutation involves the transition from a plurality of international, specific, or regional societies to a single international society on a global scale. After a presentation of the "European System of States", the author examines the transition to the system of States of Christian civilization, and the transition to the society of civilized States. He examines the evolution of the doctrine relating to international society, and to the world society in search of a new order.
Pour désigner l'objet de son cours, Antonio Truyol Y Serra fait appel à une notion empruntée à la biologie : celle de mutation, qu'il applique ici à la société internationale. Cette mutation consiste dans le passage d'une pluralité de sociétés internationales, particulières ou régionales à une société internationale unique à l'échelle de la planète. Après une présentation du « système européen d'Etats », l'auteur étudie le passage au système d'Etats de civilisation chrétienne, puis au passage à la société d'Etats civilisés. Il étudie ensuite l'évolution de la doctrine relative à la société internationale, puis à la société mondiale à la recherche d'un ordre nouveau.
