ABSTRACTF.A. von der Heydte points out that the international Tribunals deal with the protection of human rights, which is reason enough for a thorough study of the individual's legal position in international tribunals. The author therefore successively examines the role of the individual in international law, the international tribunals, and the individual before the arbitration body, the individual before the interstate tribunal, the individual before the federal international tribunal, the individual before the international criminal tribunal, and the individual as a judge of international tribunal.
F.A. von der Heydte relève que ce sont des tribunaux internationaux qui sont appelés à s'occuper de la protection des droits de l'homme, ce qui est une raison suffisante pour étudier à fond la situation juridique de l'individu devant les tribunaux internationaux. L'auteur étudie donc successivement le rôle de l'individu en droit international, les tribunaux internationaux, l'individu devant l'organe arbitral, l'individu devant la juridiction interétatique, l'individu devant la juridiction internationale fédérale, l'individu devant la juridiction internationale pénale, et l'individu comme juge de la juridiction internationale.
