ABSTRACTGeorges Scelle begins his systematic course on the General Rules of the Law of Peace with a methodological introduction devoted to the postulates of classical international law and to the objections addressed to the postulates of classical international law by realistic criticism. The first part of the course is devoted to the elements of the international legal order: international society, subject of law, and jurisdiction. In the second part, Georges Scelle describes the constitutional technique of the law of the nations through a study of the law development function, the jurisdictional function, and the executive function.

Georges Scelle commence son cours systématique sur les règles générales du droit de la paix par une introduction méthodologique consacrée aux postulats du droit international classique et aux objections que leur adresse la critique réaliste. La première partie du cours est consacrée aux éléments de l'ordre juridique international : société internationale, sujet de droit et compétence. Dans la deuxième partie, Georges Scelle décrit la technique constitutionnelle du droit des gens à travers une étude de la fonction d'élaboration du droit, de la fonction juridictionnelle, et de la fonction exécutive.
