ABSTRACTTwo countries can be creditor and debtor to each other. They have payments to make to each other. In the broad sense of the word, there is a need for international payment. Gaston Jeze explores the international payments from the perspective of international law by focusing on the approach to the issue of international payments: normal or exceptional cases, payment processes, and essential characteristics. The author then focuses on the existing ideas for the solution of the problem of international payments, and examines objections to the obtained conclusions. Finally, he presents tables of international payments in history.

Deux pays peuvent être créancier et débiteur l'un de l'autre. Ils ont des paiements à se faire l'un à l'autre. Au sens large du mot, il y a lieu à paiement international. Gaston Jèze étudie les paiements internationaux sous l'angle du droit international en s'intéressant tout d'abord à la position de la question des paiements internationaux : cas normaux ou exceptionnels, procédés de paiement, caractéristique essentielle. L'auteur s'intéresse ensuite aux idées dominantes pour la solution du problème des paiements internationaux, puis procède à un examen d'objections contre les conclusions qu'il a ainsi exposées. Il dresse ensuite un tableau des paiements internationaux dans l'histoire.
