ABSTRACTAntoine Pillet shows in his study of the General Theory of Acquired Rights that the principle of the international effect of acquired rights is much more important than expected by one, and that in fact it constitutes one of the great contributors of the whole science. After an introduction to the international recognition of regularly acquired rights, the author asks the definition of a regularly acquired right and then examines the effect of regularly acquired rights. The author later presents the principle of compliance for acquired rights in its relations with the jurisdiction and execution of foreign judgments, the limitations of the international effect of acquired rights, the exceptions to the principle, the extinction of authority of acquired rights, and the influence of new rights on previously acquired rights.
Antoine Pillet montre dans son étude de la théorie générale des droits acquis que le principe de l'effet international des droits acquis est beaucoup plus important qu'on ne le soupçonne, et qu'en réalité il constitue l'un des grands animateurs de la science tout entière. Après une introduction consacrée au respect international des droits régulièrement acquis, l'auteur se demande ce qu'est un droit régulièrement acquis, puis s'intéresse à l'effet des droits régulièrement acquis. L'auteur présente ensuite le principe du respect des droits acquis dans ses rapports avec la compétence et avec l'exécution des jugements étrangers, les limites de l'effet international des droits acquis, les exceptions au principe, l'extinction de l'autorité des droits acquis, et l'influence des droits nouveaux sur les droits antérieurement acquis.
