ABSTRACTR.R. Baxter begins his course on Armistices and Other Forms of Suspension of Hostilities with a presentation of terminological questions. He then examines the question of conclusion of agreements of suspension of hostilities, and focuses on persons authorized to finalize agreements. He then asks whether agreements of suspension of hostilities are treaties, examines the effects of these agreements, discusses some problems of law of war, after concluding an agreement of suspension of hostilities, examines the particular nature of agreements finalized under the auspices of United Nations, and then the possible sanctions and remedies in case of violation of the agreements of suspension of hostilities.
