ABSTRACTThis publication is dedicated to exploring the law, theory and practice underlying the move by international bodies monitoring the interpretation and application of human rights treaties towards extending the extraterritorial application of human rights law. Among other things, the publication addresses the development of legal doctrine on extraterritorial application in the jurisprudence of the European Court of Human Rights and Human Rights Committee, and specific law and policy discussions related to the application of human rights law to occupied territories, national contingents involved in international peacekeeping forces, extradition or deportation of individuals from one state to another, and human rights standards sets for the overseas business operations of multinational corporations.
